SecureCloud offers three desktop clients (Sync Client, Drive Client, Terminal Client) and two mobile apps (iOS App, Android App) for download. Sync Client is the recommended standard client: it synchronizes cloud data locally with the endpoint, so files are also available without an internet connection. Drive Client simulates a network drive and does not permanently store data on the endpoint — suitable for shared workstations or devices with limited local storage. Terminal Client is for users who want to run cloud operations from the command line. SecureCloud is BSI C5 attested, ISO 27001 certified and hosted in German data centers.
SecureCloud desktop clients support Windows 10 and higher (also Windows 7 backwards compatible), macOS 10.13 and higher (also macOS 10.10 backwards compatible) and Linux. Sync Client, Drive Client and Terminal Client are available for all three operating systems — no platform lock-in. Mobile devices are supported via the native iOS and Android apps. Browser access is platform-independent on any modern browser. All data is encrypted with AES-256 between endpoint and cloud; SecureCloud GmbH stores exclusively in German data centers operated by noris network AG. SecureCloud is BSI C5 attested (the highest German information security attestation) and annually ISO 27001 certified by TÜV.
Sync Client and Drive Client differ fundamentally in data strategy: Sync Client synchronizes cloud data persistently with the local endpoint — files are available offline, changes are pushed back to the cloud on the next internet connection. Recommended for mobile employees, field staff and power users. Drive Client simulates a network drive — files remain primarily in the cloud and are loaded on demand without persistent local storage. Recommended for shared workstations, devices with limited storage or security-sensitive environments where local data copies should be minimized. Both clients use AES-256 encryption and work with German data centers.
SecureCloud offers native iOS and Android apps for download in the respective app stores. Mobile apps support cross-device file synchronization, mobile viewing and editing of Office documents via SecureWork, and electronic signing via SecureSign. Employees access the same dataset from smartphone or tablet as from desktop; version snapshots prevent conflicts between parallel edits. All data is encrypted with AES-256 between endpoint and cloud. SecureCloud GmbH is a German company without a US parent; all data is stored in German data centers. SecureCloud is BSI C5 attested, ISO 27001 certified, Trusted Cloud certified (BMWK) and GDPR-compliant.
IT departments roll out SecureCloud clients centrally to employee endpoints via existing software-distribution tools (e.g. Microsoft Intune, Jamf for macOS, Linux package managers). Sync Client, Drive Client and Terminal Client are available as installer packages for Windows, macOS and Linux. Mobile apps are distributed via the respective app stores or mobile device management (MDM) solutions. Granular permission management at the cloud platform ensures that after login employees only access their permissions. Audit logs record every installation and login for audit-readiness. All data is encrypted with AES-256 and stored in German data centers.
Minimum system requirements for SecureCloud desktop clients: Windows 10 or higher (Windows 7 still backwards compatible with limited support); macOS 10.13 or higher (macOS 10.10 still backwards compatible); Linux with a current Glibc version. Mobile apps require current iOS and Android versions. Older operating systems can fall back to the browser version, which runs platform-independently in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). For maximum compatibility and security the use of current OS versions with installed security updates is recommended. All data is encrypted with AES-256; SecureCloud is BSI C5 attested and ISO 27001 certified.
