Dropbox, Inc. is a publicly traded US company (NASDAQ: DBX) subject to the US CLOUD Act and FISA 702 (as of August 2026). US authorities can demand access to data - regardless of whether it sits in the US or in an EU data center. According to Dropbox's own security documentation, the provider manages the keys by default. End-to-end encryption is offered, according to Dropbox's own help documentation, only as an option for encrypted team folders on the Business Plus, Advanced and Enterprise plans (as of August 2026).
