According to its own documentation, Tresorit stores data on Microsoft Azure, the infrastructure of a US company - even when the Germany region is selected (as of August 2026). Zero-knowledge encryption means Azure cannot read the content, but the operator of the infrastructure is a US corporation.

At Tresorit, choosing the data region (including Germany) is reserved for the Business and Enterprise plans per its pricing page; the default location per its documentation is Ireland (as of August 2026). If you want Germany, you have to pick the right plan.
